You can cancel your order via email or phone as long as the order has not been shipped. Once it has been shipped, we cannot cancel your order anymore. Returns will only be accepted in accordance with our Return Policy.
If you have something that you are looking for and cannot find, don't hesitate to let us know. We will do what we can to find it for you and will give you a quote before the order. It can take a few days to get the information, but it might not be as costly as you think!
|For an extra charge of $5 we will gladly gift wrap your order, send a card with your personal message and only include a packing slip (the invoice copy will be sent to the billing address). The gift wrapping paper will be our Kinderladen-Green color and we decorate it with red, orange, or yellow raffia (see picture). Please specify any details that you might want to add or other requests you have when ordering.
Purchasing Gift Vouchers
Gift Vouchers are purchased just like any other product in our store. You can pay for them by using the store's standard payment methods. Once purchased the value of the Gift Voucher will be added to your own personal Gift Voucher Account which is automatically linked to your personal account at ABC Kinderladen. If you have funds in your Gift Voucher Account, you will notice that the amount now shows in the Shopping Cart box, and also provides a link to a page where you can send the Gift Voucher to someone via email.
How to Send Gift Vouchers
To send a Gift Voucher you need to go to our Send Gift Voucher Page. You will find the link to this page in the Shopping Cart Box in the right hand column of each page. When you send a Gift Voucher, you will need to specify the following:
- the name and email address of the person you are sending the Gift Voucher to.
- the amount you want to send. (Please note: You don't have to send the full amount that is in your Gift Voucher Account.)
- a short personal message which will appear in the email.
Please ensure that you have entered all of the information correctly, although you will be given the opportunity to change anything before the email is actually sent.
Buying with Gift Vouchers
If you have funds in your Gift Voucher Account, you can use those funds to purchase any product in our store. At the checkout stage, an extra box will appear. Checking this box will apply the funds in your Gift Voucher Account. Please note: You will still have to select another payment method if there is not enough in your Gift Voucher Account to cover the cost of your purchase. If you have more funds in your Gift Voucher Account than the total cost of your purchase, the balance will be left in you Gift Voucher Account for future use.
Redeeming Gift Vouchers.
If you receive a Gift Voucher by email it will contain details of who sent you the Gift Voucher, along with possibly a short personal message from the sender. The Email will also contain a link to redeem the voucher. You will need to Login or Create an Account before you can redeem the Gift Voucher.
There are various ways you can redeem the voucher:
1. By clicking on the link contained within the email you will be taken to the store's Redeem Gift Voucher page. You will then be asked to create an account or login, before the Gift Voucher is validated and placed in your Gift Voucher Account ready for you to spend.
2. by checking the box on the payment method page during the checkout process your Gift Voucher balance will be applied against the order total. If you have more funds in your Gift Voucher Account than the total cost of your purchase, the balance will be left in you Gift Voucher Account for future use.

Shipping & Handling|
We offer shipping of your order via the USPS mailing services. During the checkout we show the different options (Express, Priority Mail, Parcel Post or Media mail) and a price quote based on the weight, size, content and shipping destination of your order.
Your order will be shipped on the same or next business day if the items are in stock.
Depending on your location and chosen shipping option, the shipment should arrive within 1-5 business days. Some items might be shipped directly from the supplier and usually ship the same or following business day.
Please note that large items might need to be shipped separately from smaller ones and might not arrive at the same time due to different shipping times.
If you require different shipping options for faster service or International destinations, please let us know by calling or emailing us or writing a note in the comment field provided at the checkout.
Washington State residents are required to pay Sales Tax (currently 8.8%) on the final sales amount (including shipping charges).
TIP: If you are only ordering books, CDs or DVDs (not games, toys etc.!). and are flexible with your delivery time, you might want to consider Media Mail offered by USPS which is the cheapest way to send books and media items. For more information, please visit www.usps.com.

Our website usually shows an accurate stock level for our products. If for any unforeseen reason we do not have an item in-stock, we will notify you via email or phone.
Except for inaccurate stock indication from our side, any order that contains Out-of-Stock/Backordered items will usually be held until the complete order can be shipped. If we should ship the In-Stock items immediately, please let us know.
Note: If you should choose to ship your backorder separately, you are responsible for the additional shipping costs.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Paypal, Money Order and Personal Checks.
Your credit card will not be charged until your order has been shipped. If you decide to pay via Personal Check, your check has to have cleared with your bank (usually within 5 business days) before your order ships. This way we are making sure that no fraudulent or insufficient checks will be used.
Please note that we will charge $35 for each check returned by your bank.

That is why we offer you an easy return if you are for any reason not satisfied with a product.
Please call, email or write to us within 3 weeks of your purchase to let us know about your problem. You will receive an Authorization Number and instructions for your return. After we have received and inspected the item(s), we will gladly give you a store credit or refund based on the original invoice purchase price.
If an item arrived defective or damaged, we will replace it at no additional cost to the customer. However, should the product show wear or damage upon return to us due to inappropriate handling or packaging by the customer, the refund will be adjusted at our discretion.
Please note: Opened Software, DVDs and CDs as well as FINAL SALE items, Special Orders, and holiday-themed items after the holiday period are excluded from our return policy and cannot be returned.
The Gift Wrapping Fee is NON REFUNDABLE and Return Shipping Costs are the responsibility of the customer (unless the item was defective or damaged!)

We do not sell or share any information with Third Parties (unless the customer has given his explicit consent). You can browse our store and products as long as you like without giving us any personal information.
If you do decide to Order, Create an Account or Subscribe to our Newsletter, you do need to give us some personal information such as name, street address, phone number, e-mail address, and billing information in order to receive the service you have selected. The billing information will be processed by a third party financial institution and their vendors in order to verify credit card numbers and process transactions through a secured website.
If you wish, you can subscribe to our Newsletter that goes out monthly with information regarding upcoming Book Fairs, Discounts, Promotional Sales etc. This is an opt-in option and available when you create an account. It can also be changed after logging in to your account under Email notifications.
Information through cookies
We are using common internet security technology such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to protect personal data. Every time you are asked to enter sensitive information like credit card numbers, for example, you will notice a lock icon on the bottom of your browser that shows you that you are on a secure site. The data you submit will be encrypted before it is transmitted over the Internet.

You can place an order without creating an Account with us, but you will not be able to take advantage of features such as address book, order history, order tracking etc.
If you decide to create an account with your email address and a password that you choose, we will request the following personal information: name, street address and email address and phone number. You can opt-in, if you like, to receive our Newsletter when creating your account or change it later after creating your account under Email Notifications.
Creating your account will have several advantages:
- You will not have to enter your address every time you order and can even have up to 5 addresses in your Address Book that you can choose from (if you like to send a present to a friend or family member).
- You have a Permanent Cart which will keep any products added to your online cart until you remove them or check them out.
- You can view your Order History online and see what you have purchased in the past.

How can I check my order? Can I track the package?
Yes, after your package has been shipped, you can track it by logging into your account and clicking on your link in Shipping Method on the Order Information page. You can also follow the instructions in your confirmation email sent to you after we have shipped your item.
Can I return a product for any reason?
Yes, you can return a product for any reason within 3 weeks days after purchase. This applies to new books, games, and toys, unopened CDs, Software and DVDs in their original condition. (see also Return Policy)
What are my payment options? Is it safe to use a credit card?

What are my shipping options?

What happens if a product of my order is out-of-stock?
We will notify you immediately and you have the option to have you order be delivered in two separate shipments by sending the in-stock items immediately or wait until the out-of-stock item becomes available again.
Can I have Gift Services with my order?
Yes, we offer gift wrapping for $5 (see also Gift Services). This includes a handwritten card with your personal message. The invoice will be sent to the billing address separately, while the package will only contain a packing slip, not revealing the price.
